Made from waterproof high tenacity spun canvas. The Backcountry is a traditional, hardwearing fully featured dual compartment canvas bushwalking pack. Incorporating the Mont Moto Active™ harness, the Backcountry offers great carrying comfort for expedition size loads.

Moto Active™ Harness System
The Moto Active™ harness represents great load carrying comfort for mid to high volume packs. It offers efficient weight transfer and excellent adjustability. Weight transfer is accomplished by way of two frame stays inserted directly into the hip belt. It also features upper and lower stabilisers to assist with load transfer between the shoulders and hips. While adjustability in shoulder length means the frame fits a wider range of body types. The Moto Active harness remains stable and comfortable under load thanks to the dual density, contoured hipbelt and shoulder straps. It is available in Women’s, Medium and Large back lengths.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
HDPE is rigid, strong and lightweight, ideal for Mont Frame Sheets. Featured in all packs with the Novo Lite™ and Moto Active™ harnesses, the HDPE Frame
Sheet maintains the shape of the sac and protects your back from sharp objects.
EvaZote™ Foams
Premium quality EvaZote™ closed cell foam is used in Mont Shoulder straps. EvaZote™ foams are the world’s best and are extremely resilient and maintain their shape over many years of hard use.
Duraflex™ Buckles
Only premium quality Duraflex™ buckles are used in Mont backpacks. Their nylon composition and patented design make them indestructible and very easy to use.
High Tenacity Core Spun Canvas
The classic Australian canvas. A specially milled Australian made high tenacity core spun canvas fabric is used in Mont’s canvas backpacks. It provides excellent durability, waterproofness, abrasion resistance and UV protection.
1000d Waterproof Nylon
Our travel packs and the base of our bushwalking packs feature an incredibly strong and abrasion resistant 1000d nylon fabric with a special coal coated waterproof PU finish on the inside face. These fabrics will survive the toughest conditions.
Aluminium Frame
The T6-6261 Aluminium Frame stays are incredibly light, strong and resilient.
YKK™ Zips and Nylon Webbings
Mont backpacks feature only genuine YKK™ zips and sliders, the strongest and most durable zips in the world. We also go to extremes by using nylon webbings which are manufactured to stringent military specifications.
Seam Binding
All points of high stress such as webbing attachments are triple stitched using a premium thread. All seams are then bound with a special narrow woven nylon
binding and then stitched again. That’s up to five rows of stitching for extra strength and durability.
