AIRCOMFORT SENSIC BACK SYSTEM
ACTIVE-FIT SHOULDER STRAPS: Agile Active-Fit shoulder straps fit comfortably through their self-acting adjustment to width and angle of the shoulder area. Their ergonomic S-shape follows the shoulders' and neck's contours exactly – no chafing or rubbing. Light, perforated foam provides ventilation.
ERGONOMIC HIP FINS: Compact, ergonomic hip fins make little more weight possible with Pull-Forward adjustment. They hug the hips without a gap through contact points that are close together. Perforated foam provides ventilation. (Futura 24 SL, 26 SL, 26, 28 SL, 28, 30, 30 EL & 34 EL)
AIRCOMFORT MESH NET: Maximum ventilation, ergonomic comfort, and lightness are combined in this mesh back system. The innovative construction of the hip fin area and its seamless transition into the mesh back hug the carrier and enables a comfortable fit. The durable frame construction designed from flexible and breakproof spring steel provides stable tension for the Aircomfort Sensic's mesh back. This Deuter patented 3-side ventilation decreases perspiration by 25%*.(*certified and substantiated by the renowned Institute Hohenstein, Germany)
LUMBAR PADS: provide carrying comfort through three-dimensional modeling analogous to the shape of the hips. (Futura 22 SL & 24)

By: Gerard on 15 February 2019Good pack with tight support that sits high and as a result allows for a more comfortable and balanced walk in rough terrain. I just wish the manufacturer could have extended the length of the side mesh pockets. This is a common problem in many of the day packs though not just the Deuter Futura 24.
Review of Deuter FUTURA 24L Hiking BackpackBy: Terence on 19 December 2018I had a Deuter Cross Air 22 L backpack since 2001 and it has been my daily driver for the past 17 years. While I was sad to see it wear down, I was excited at the prospect of hunting a new backpack that I can use on a daily basis. In terms of my lifestyle, I am a researcher and I tend to ride my bike or take public transport to work. I am a male and normal built about 1.75m tall just in case you need a reference point on how this pack fits me. I just want to put it frankly, I am not using this backpack for hiking. This has been my daily go to backpack as a lifestyle companion. With my bike commuting habits, an AirComfort system was a basic essential function to have in my hunt for a new backpack. Initially, I did purchase an Osprey Radial 34 bike commuting backpack and I returned it after using it once. The air mesh system on that pales in comparison to Deuter's. What was I thinking! While I have to admit that Deuter's FUTURA 24L backpack is very comfortable (i.e. fit and AirComfort) and makes me want to carry the backpack non-stop, I have to critique the interior design of the backpack. Compared to Osprey's well thought out design with multiple compartments to help you with your packing, Deuter has gone for a traditional minimalist interior design. To get around this, I have a few packing pouches to help me organise my gear. Overall, this backpack is lightweight, durable, and very comfortable. The Deuter AirComfort system does not disappoint!
