There's no doubt a low-cut shoe feels lighter on the trail and more sensitive, too. Our Moraine Plus GTX takes the same foundation as the Moraine GTX - Vibram sole, dual-density EVA midsole - and raises the bar. A stretch-gusseted tongue provides a higher performance fit, without sacrificing all-day comfort. To maintain durability, but reduce break-in time, we use a full-grain Nubuck leather upper. It offers the plush feel and out-of-the-box comfort of suede, but the toughness of a full-grain leather.
Upper: 1.8mm Suede
Sizes: 36 - 42(half sizes)
Weight: 390g; 13.8oz (1/2 pair size 38)
Rupert Edward Cecil Lee Guinness (of both Guinness World Record and the Dublin-brewed dark ale fame) established the Scarpa footwear company in the late 1930s, in order to give a future to skilled Italian craftsmen in leather processing. Translated from its Italian acronym, S.C.A.R.P.A stands for Association of Footwear Manufacturers from the area of Asolo.
By the mid-1950s, three brothers hired by Scarpa were able to take ownership, and brought the traditions of their land, their culture, and their beliefs into the business. After an Italian-American in Boston showcased the quality of his footwear to his coworkers, the North American market opened up, and production went from 10,000 pairs to 120,000 pairs within 5 short years.
Scarpa moraine Hiking BootsBy: David Ryan on 1 July 2019I just bought the Scarpa Moraine for the Larapinta trail. NT This is a tough track on boots and they performed admirably, Soles were just thick enough for the rocks but flexible enough to give grip confidence in the rough terrain . Id recommend them.
Love These Boots!By: Jennifer on 24 June 2019Amazing boots at a great price from my favourite online retailer. Scarpa are the perfect fit for me, although I had to go up a size in these boots from usual sizing for other Scarpa shoes. They are a great fit, lovely colours and hopefully with last as well as all my other Scarpa shoes. Thanks Wild Earth for selling them at a great price. They are so fantastic, I bought two pairs!
Good support but a little stiffBy: Suka on 24 April 2019I just brought these boots for a short walk of 5 hours. They are my first Scarpa, I must say, it's nice not to have to worry about stepping into small puddles because of the water-resistant quality of the boots. The boots provide good support on the feet. It took me a while to get used to the rigidness of the boots but after half an hour, I was good. One downside is, the top of the boots are quite stiff and they dig into the top of my foot a lot. I am hoping a good, thick pair of socks will solve this problem. In summary, I would recommend these boots.
