My sleep system.By: George MillarGe on 3 December 2018This is my second Klymit mattress. I also have the XL because l'm old and fat and like my comfort. But this review is for the Ststic V. I've have the pleasure of doing the Overland track here in Tassie every year. I also like researching new products and if l can afford them, give 'em a go. So, price: very reasonable. Comfort : very comfortable. I have a bad back and can only sleep on my side. This has always been an issue with beds period. But in all honesty, this design is the best l have tried. When fully inflated and l lay on it (95 Kg) my hip doesn't hit the ground. Obviously you can soften and make the mattress more plush by letting out a bit of the air. This brings me to the inflation. It takes about a dozen to 15 breaths to get it inflated. Depends on the lungs. You will also find out rather quickly how quite these mattresses are to sleep on. Most other mattresses are actually quite noisy. You hear every move the sle r per makes. Must have something to do with the material Klymit makes the matress out of and what sleeping bags are made out of. The valves are clever. Once inflated you just do a little oral gymnastics and it is sealed and you're good to go. Some reviews go on about mold in the blow up mattresses. Yeah, maybe. But as a nurse l'm not worried about it, l've blown into a lot nastier things in my 27 years of nursing. Ok, so you have had a great night sleep and it's time to hit the trail again. You turn the valve unlocking it, go make a coffee and it's ready to go. And it does fit nicely back into the pouch it comes with. Size: in the bag, it's roughly the size of a 1L drink bottle. Weight: well l think it's light, but if you're going to be a bean counter, you probably will choose a folding yoga mat as your bed. For me? The weight to comfort cancels things out. The Klymit mattresses come with a repair kit which is a nice touch. Though l have never had a puncture. I have also found (while on the trek) that l have become the unofficial spokesman for my mattress.

KLYMIT STATIC V RECONBy: Robert Smith on 4 February 2018Packs very small & light. Surprisingly comfortable for a thin mattress, even for a side sleeper like myself.
Klymit Static V Recon Inflatable Ultralight HikingBy: Chris Rumsey on 30 August 2016As advertised, 11 puffs from an unfit person saw the mattress fully inflated. Haven't slept on it all night yet but appears quite good for the size to weight ratio I was looking for. For me it's ideal for motorcycle touring when weight is pretty important. Bought via Wild Earth eBay store at a bit less than the direct website.
Small lightweight and a great sleepBy: Tristan on 25 April 2016Inflate to desired level and have a great sleep.
