Below is a suggested packing list for your African adventure. It is a guide only, so feel free to adjust it to suit your own requirements but ensure you have ample base layers and warm clothes for the mountain climb. You’ll move through a number of different eco-systems during the expedition and having suitable clothing for all conditions is a must. For the Rwenzori climb, we start on the equator in hot, wet, humid conditions, then pass through temperate alpine tundra before breaking the vegetation line onto exposed rock and ice where strong winds, and potentially snow can drop the temperate considerably. Once we move onto the African savannah the temperature will be hot during the day with sun exposure a risk to uncovered skin. At night-time it pays to cover up to minimise the risk of mosquito bites.
