Some emergency shelters are just that - they are meant so that you can use them once or twice when needed and then never again. The Survive Outdoors Longer Sport Utility Blanket is a different type of shelter - one that you can use as an emergency blanket one day and then as a picnic blanket the next. Use it to haul heavy loads, as a ground tarp underneath a tent, rigged as a shelter, or to cover your gear in foul weather - the Sport Utility Blanket will be up to the task. Even with many times the strength of similar multi-use blankets and tarps, plus a scorching 95% heat reflectivity rating, the Sport Utility Blanket still weighs in at a feathery 11.3 oz. Our playing fields are often located far from the modern amenities that we take for granted - electricity, telephones, running water, and ready access to professional medical help. Consequently, the need to be self-sufficient in the outdoors is essential, especially during an emergency when assistance from rescue teams may be hours or days away.
Adventure Medical Kits is dedicated to bringing you the most innovative products which will keep you safe in the outdoors. At AMK, our love of the outdoors is matched only by our drive to create products that allow your customers to stay healthy on land, water, and air. We rely on the expertise of world authorities in wilderness medicine and survival techniques to develop and refine our products year after year.
AMK SOL sport survival blanketBy: Ian on 12 November 2018Purchased this serve a dual purpose. One being an emergency blanket/shelter the other being a heat retention ground sheet in our tent. Our first night using it was horrendous rain and wind. We never felt a thing in terms of the very low temps. Great product.
By: will on 29 January 2018It is well made and serves most of its purposes. But is not super tough. A small twig pierced it immediately (not even with weight on it) making unsuitable as a rain fly after it has been used as a ground sheet or for any of the more rugged jobs it suggests. It is still great as a sun shield and insulator, although those jobs could go to much lighter alternatives. But they eyelets are well attached and its pretty easy to work with. This does everything it advertises, just not all at once.
RELIABILITY AND WARMTH AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICEBy: Jeff Morehead on 17 September 2017This blanket is well made & has so many uses . Use as a shelter, emergency blanket, picnic blanket, hammock insulator, or foot print for the base of your tent or use to haul your fire wood back to your camp site. A must have camping necessity at an affordable & more than reasonable price. :)
AMK SOL Sport Survival BlanketBy: Tony Middleditch on 16 August 2017The principal use will be for a ground sheet inside the tent for our Patagonia Trip. I can see it being also handy as a general ground sheet for sitting on during extended breaks or even as a short term rain cover. The construction seems very tough. Out of the bag, the chemical smell is overpowering and I suggest to leave it on the clothesline for a week or so to air out.
Got another oneBy: Curtis Jones on 31 May 2016Brought another one of these after having put the others through some pain. They hold up really well but I've found that folded edges wear a little in your pack - the silver side abrades off a little. Still, for what they are as a shelter - brilliant. Very happy and well recommended. Definitely not something that falls apart or tears in five minutes.
