Keep it in reach at all times.By: Chuck on 10 July 2019More than piece of mind for myself, it's the appropriate communicator for others that not only want to follow your adventure, but known you are safe and happy. The set up process does require a webpage, an app and the device. I mostly use the three preset messages, but can also text with it pop up key board. If you plan on texting a lot, bring your phone and use the companion app's keyboard. It'll also sync your phone's contacts. Get detailed maps. I only use it in Australia but other maps can be bought if In need to travel abroad. The battery on 30 min tracking will last about 150 hours. If you turn it off at night then it'll last a few weeks. This one has a month to month plan so I didn't need to subscribe for an entire year. I only need it active at certain travel times. Also the orange is easy to find in a full bag of gear. Highly recommend it.
