Made in Europe.
Inspired by Hilleberg's exceptionally strong Staika, the Allak was designed to be a completely free standing, all season dome tent for those prioritizing lighter weight over absolute strength. During its two year development, the Allak became our testers’ tent of choice anytime they were uncertain about what kind of terrain or conditions they might experience on a trip. Its exceptionally compact footprint and free standing design are ideal for tough pitching conditions, such as rocky ground and sand, and it is easily light enough for mobile journeys, where you move your camp every day. At the same time, its three pole dome structure is strong enough for base camp use in all but the worst conditions. Since its introduction, paddlers favor it for its ability to be pitched nearly anywhere, while backpackers choose it for its roomy stability and wonderfully light weight. Mountaineers appreciate both the Allak’s free standing design and its roominess, as well as its ability to deal with snow loading. And taller adventurers find its length a welcome comfort.
“Allak” means “lake,” in Sami, the language of the people indigenous to northern Scandinavia.
For over 45 years, Hilleberg the Tentmaker has specialized in doing only one thing and doing it well – building the highest quality tents and shelters available. Conceived and developed in northern Sweden, Hilleberg tents are made in Europe, built to last, and offer the ideal balance of high strength, low weight, ease of use, and remarkable comfort. Hilleberg tents have been – and remain – the choice of polar and Himalayan expeditions, military special forces units, and discerning outdoor adventurers the world over. They are the go-to choice both for those who travel deep into the backcountry, in all conditions, and require tents that are utterly dependable, no matter what, as well as for those who just want a tent that will last. Founded in 1971 by Bo and Renate Hilleberg, the company is still family-owned and run. The company owns and operates its own European factory, which makes only Hilleberg products, and every tent is set up and inspected to ensure the ultimate in quality and reliability.
Hilleberg Tents are the first choice of discerning outdoor adventurers the world over.
Initial Review of Hilleberg Allak tentBy: JimMelbourne on 5 February 2017I've had this tent a couple of months and so far have used it twice, both times in ideal conditions, no rain and little wind. So this is just an initial review. The tent is definitely an excellent design. Huge vestibules and the way the inner tent is attached gives you more head room than normal. the ventilation is extremely good with large mesh areas in the doors. The way the poles and guy ropes attach make it extremely strong. The price is high but you are getting what I think is definitely the top tent on the market. I look forward to doing an updated review after using it in tough conditions.
Hilleberg Allak - 2pBy: Cam. on 9 January 2017If you want a robust tent which is bulletproof in practically any conditions, freestanding andcquick to put up this is the one. Not the cheapest around by any means but well worth the money if you can afford it. I've had a Hilleberg Solo tent for years and it never over me down.
