Yvette writes;  "I bought this product for my son to go trekking in Borneo and Malaysia.  I was unaware of the Katadyn system and was looking at either lifestraw or a platypus system until the sales rep asked me what I needed it to do.  He suggested the Soft Bottle Katadyn BEFREE system and we have been impressed.    Not only can you drink straight from the top it allows water to be squeezed through the filter for group cooking or to fill canteens for yourself or others.  It has a reasonably large opening so water collection isn't a problem and the filter is expected to filter 1000lt (of reasonably clear) water before needing replacement.  Weighing very little it rolls up to nearly nothing (not much bigger than the filter) and the BPA free plastic is strong and durable."

Ian writes;  "Too heavy for hiking but brilliant for 4WD camping, compact and versatile. Fortunately for us also the right size for our existing kettle to  fit into, a neat easy to store package in a canvas bag to stop rattles. A word of warning the frypan handle unlocks by squeezing if you lift off the stove don’t squeeze, unless you want your eggs easy over in the dirt. We haven’t used on a fire yet but expect will be okay. We have previously used old kitchen pots and cast iron pan but apart from the weight is awkward to pack and rattles on the road. The Primus gear is a significant improvement for us and recommended for quality and space saving. :-)"
